Oh. My. God. - A little less than a happy high

Oh. My. God.
I just spent way too much time writing up my thoughts on the beer & cheese tasting this past weeked at Formaggio Kitchen, and LJ ate it. It's irretrievably lost.

I can't even begin...

At any rate, Hi. How are you?

Incidentally, thanks so much for asking after me. I was still kicking around and reading all of your delicious thoughts, just not much in the proper mind for sharing in return. Quick answer is that I missed you and really have come to wish I knew some of you better. The irony is that isolating myself does nothing to help either. My mind works in strange ways, though.

Sweet. Is lovely lady coming with, or is this just crazy "man needs a walkabout" tripping?

Have a great time.

Oh, it's coming... it'll just take me a while to bring myself to tackle my notes again. For you, though:

Saint Agur Auvergne, France (triple crème cow): If you've ever known someone who claimed they couldn't take blue cheese, I urge you to point them at this. Triple crèmes have the milk supplemented with cream, radically altering the texture and flavor of the cheese. For the most part, my experience with them has been based on the likes of Pierre Robert - rich camembert style cheeses that resemble nothing so much as rich, frosted cheescake. This is a blue and a fairly unusual one. The roquefort tang is almost entirely missing and in its place is a very mild, slightly spicy buttery taste that rolls over your tongue and finishes with fruity nose almost reminiscent of peaches.
Beer: Traquair Scotch Ale: In keeping with the richness of the cheese, Robert and Jeremy gave us one of the best Scotch ales available. Malty sweet and complex, it is nonetheless nicely balanced within itself. It played nicely to the strengths of the Saint Agur.

Ah... so you heard me then?

Did I ever tell you about my $150 cab ride in Chicago? His name was Khan, too...

Was he a genetically enhanced superman of a taxi cab driver?
komos From: komos Date: October 8th, 2004 12:52 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yes. Yes he was.

And I laughed at his superior intellect.

We close on our new house here in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on Thursday, and I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year, and Fuzzy agreed to give me til the first of the year to just write, and not worry about finding a real job.

Re: missing

I'm not sure that I'm insomnia-worthy. ^_^

Still, I appreciate the sentiment. How have you been?
