I wonder if it's just a coincidence that the boxes for the Boston Phoenix at the T stops closest to the State House* have been absent since approximately two weeks before election day? It's a fairly left-leaning paper that is pretty clear about its political endorsements. Our governor is fairly right-leaning and was attempting to have a little Republican Revolution here in the Bay State. Though his plan failed, I can't say as I actually saw the Phoenix's endorsements. Worse, I didn't even think of it until I tried to find the paper to see what was written about the election results.

I suppose the boxes might have been moved in anticipation of the Red Sox victory parade. What's weird is that all of the other press boxes are still there. I could speculate further and say that all of the other free rags managed to get their boxes back in place and the Phoenix dropped the ball. I don't know.

*For the non-Bostonians here, those would be Park Street and Downtown Crossing. The closest box I could find was a full stop away on a different line. At a little over a quarter of a mile, it wasn't an impossible walk, but it was an interesting one.

Nah. The relationship between a man and his sheep is untouchable.

Incidentatlly, it looks like Dubya took all of the four-letter states. Think on that for a moment.

four letter states are easier to pronounce?

I've seen them all over town (but of course, I mainly notice them in socialist heaven - Cambridge). Read the Blue in a Red America article online; it's fairly interesting.

I picked up a copy on the corner opposite Boylston, so I know that they're still there. I just thought it strange that the 3-4 boxes I associate with Park Street/Downtown Crossing (including the one that's usually outside of the Tremont McDonalds) just evaporated.

Yeah, I caught that.

Contact the Phoenix to let them know the boxes aren't there. They might not know...
