Probably the best example I've seen. ^_^

I was thinking more along the lines of:
"The word ghoti was coined to show how illogical English spelling can be. It spells ‘fish’:
gh = ‘f’ as in enough
o = ‘i’ as in women
ti = ‘sh’ as in nation"

This so-called "example" has always bugged me. No word in English has an F-sound represented by GH at the beginning of the word. And no word in English has an SH-sound represented by TI at the end, either; TI is dependent on letters that follow it (-tion, -tial, etc.). The reason why an English speaker doesn't see "fish" when looking at "ghoti" is simply that English spelling doesn't work that way. I'll be the first to admit that English has freaky spelling rules, but the word "ghoti" doesn't illustrate anything useful about them.

Considering that this was something that came to me in another overtired state, I really can't say that I've put that much thought into it. Hell, even as a snigglet, I'm not sure how useful it is. At the time, it struck me as conceptually funny and probably entirely without merit.

That sounds like something Gays In Space would detect off the port bow.

Why does that make me think of Jimmy Doohan crying, "I'm giving her all I can, captain"?

And then there's this</i>...

I'm just going to randomly say "homonomaly" at inappropriate times, since it's fun to say.

OH NO I THINK IT'S BEER TIME. HOMONOMALY!

Truth be known, I got so enamored of it for precisely that reason. TELL NO ONE!

There simply aren't enough of them, ever. Though tomorrow should be rife with zaniness at school (accepted students open house AND April Fool!)

Have any particularly E-Ville pranks ready?

One on the commuter rail planned, and several potential ones with mmy advisor... =) I love it!
Have you got any plans?

I've been far too preoccupied to make any. To tell the truth, if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have gone into the day completely unprepared.
