Yeah, I have a rash. - A little less than a happy high

Yeah, I have a rash.
I'm pleased to note that the tips I earned while manning Oktoberfest this weekend have just about covered the costs associated with doctor's visits and meds over the past couple of weeks. On the other hand, I'm not so pleased to note that the tips I earned while manning Oktoberfest have not been used for something far more entertaining like paying bills.

After a visit with the PCP yesterday, I'm back at the allergy theory. (As an aside, I really like my PCP. She's one of the only docs I've met who's been willing to listen to my endless questions and actually to answer them. Plus, she occasionally makes South Park references.) I'm scheduled to meet with an allergist today to attempt to get a handle on what's causing this.

I am happy for the saga if only because it provided me with a much needed day off yesterday.

SIC 7.5, oh yes

Sure the allergist will go on and on about bleached flour and tannins or dust mites, but the truth is that sick days heal rashes. Something to do with recirculated air, I think. Or maybe, you know, you listen to the guy/gal and it works. Whichever.

Re: SIC 7.5, oh yes

I generally don't use bleached flour, but dust mites are going to be a problem until the living situation changes. As for the rest? I'm guessing that the deconstruction on 2 & 3 is stirring up something that's gotten into the HVAC system. I was ok over the weekend, and then I was in agony sitting at my desk on Monday... to the point where I thought I might have to go to the ER.

freakin'

Huh. And going in every other day or every third day to allow for recuperation will probably suck for all concerned. And getting something to mask the symptoms still means you're sitting there in the contaminant fog. I wonder if the irritants are actually dangerous or your own system is wailing over nothing important.

Re: freakin'

Given that they cleaned what was suspected to be asbestos out of the subbasement without notifying us and are storing an unidentified material in the attic, I vote for "actually dangerous."

Respiratory ailments are pretty common here.

Word on the street is that shingles are not contagious (short of a very creative exchange of bodily fluids.) I've got a lab in to test for The Pox, and will soon know if I've got antibodies even for never having shown symptoms.

Hey you, are you free tomorrow or friday night?
Thinking of brewing a 2-3 gallon batch of all-grain, and we haven't seen you in awhile. Dinner maybe? A thrill a minute around here, I know.

yay for days off!

On a selfish note, who's your PCP? I've been half-assedly looking for a good doc, because I keep promising prosicated that I'll go to one for the first time in... oh... 10 years or so.

in other news, nix friday, because apparently prosicated won't be around.

I'd forgotten already, I have the worst memory in the world, I swear. Saturday's also bad. Tomorrow or next week? e-mail me about it!

Tomorrow might work, depending on when I get out of here. I may stay late to make up for my lost time.

My PCP is Rachel Perla. She works out of the Medford HCHP clinic.

Oh, very cool. I'll have to see if I can't put stuff together.

I love the Buddy James Best Title Award.

dude, who is your PCP? I need to find one who listens to my endless questions without looking like she is using every ounce of available energy trying not to just walk off and ignore me.

I know the type

Rachel Perla at HCHP/Medford.
