Iron Chef-ish - A little less than a happy high

Iron Chef-ish
In case you missed it over the holidays, I'm planning on doing the second Iron Chef on January 14. I think that I am still currently in need of 1-2 judges and 3-4 cooks. If you need the working rules, you can check them out here. The winner of Pear Battle will be returning to see if he can't begin a streak, and I'd very much like to see some serious competition for him. And of course, if you just want to come by to observe and to feast on the leavings, you're more than welcome.

As yet, the secret ingredient is wide open, and will be announced this coming weekend.

ETA: I'm also thinking about resurrecting the long-dormant Hong Kong Action Breakfast. If you're interested, let me know. Given everything that will be happening this month, it's entirely possible that we'd be looking at February to get it going. Still, let me know if you think you might be interested.

I'm interested in all of the above.
HKAB, chefing/judging, you name it. Prosicated and I would be willing to do the dual judging action as well: splitting a dish and averaging our internal score, then presenting it as if one judge. (To deal with her non-meaty ways.)

It's your choice, really. I'm a bit harder pressed for chefs at the moment, but if you folks want to judge in tandem, I'm sure we could figure something out.

If you're planning a non-meat ingredient, I might cook. Scratch that, I'd likely love to cook, but don't want my heathen meatless ways to interfere with your planning/audience.

I'll name the ingredient once I've an idea who's cooking. I'm not going to make folks use things that they won't eat.

I volunteer to cook for the 14th.

Also, please keep me posted re: HKAB.

Excellent, and will do.

Out of town over the 14th, but HKAB sounds faboo. Given how busy my January weekends seem, February'd be just fine by me.

Cool. Keep watching this space, and if it turns out that you folks can steal away for a bit, I'd love to see you.

I originally wanted to be a judge, but now that I've learned I'm allergic to wheat, and must avoid it, I may not be a good choice. There could be things I don't dare eat.

However, I'm not committing to cook until I know what the ingredient is. Pear was just too hard! This time pick something with FLAVOR!

If you are low on chefs, I could be convinced.

Pear is super versatile!

Regardless... I generally don't settle on an ingredient until I see who's cooking. It's meant to be a challenge. ^_^

Can't judge and am reluctant to cook, just 'cause I need a break from the pressure, though could be convinced if not enough people step up to do it.

I will definitely show up to watch the festivities!

Oh, and HKAB=yay!

You're afeared, I can tell.

I am, it scares me.

Plus, I spent a decent chunk of change cooking last time around and would like to avoid dropping another wad o' cash

I hear you... with drink and cheese and food, I dropped a fair bit, too.

No worries. I doubt I need to say this, buy you're more than welcome whether you compete or no.

I can imagine!

I'll definitely come by, probably bearing at least one fancy bread from The Bread Machine.

Can I come as a spectator, to like, wave flags and demand someone uphold someone's honor or something?

I'm also not sure what Hong Kong Action Breakfast is, but all those words are good words, and they look very good put together, so keep me posted!

It's all about eating waffles while watching state of the art bad kung fu flicks. We're questing for something to top Duel to the Death, though with all those ninjas ("Buddha be praised!"), it's going to be a tough one.

Eek! We're celebrating Burke's birthday that weekend! There will even be drinks inspired by Soren Kierkegaard.

Hope this comment doesn't come too late. I'm down for anything involved, but since it seems that there could be a chef shortage (a chefrage?) I'll figure out how to use those weird things Emeril keeps calling "knobs" on the front of the big heat box in the kitchen. Mark me a shef.
