Like as though I'd just come into money
The Commonwealth has seen fit to return approximately $200 to me today. Needless to say, I am entirely beside myself. So much so, that I'm rather at a loss of what to do. Since arrived home to find the check waiting in my mail, I've been contemplating my options. Now, you can too.

What shall I do with my riches?

"Keep Your Head" - It's really about time you rebuild your savings.

"Vegas, Baby!" - Blow it all on hookers and blow.
7(20.6%)
"I Fought the Law" - Don't you owe money to the IRS?
2(5.9%)
"Another Travelin' Song" - You should drop everything and come see me.
3(8.8%)
"Of Angels and Angles" - You need a camera. Like yesterday.
13(38.2%)
"The Modern Things" - One word: gadgets.

"Sorry for Laughing" - I have a much better idea I've shared in comments.

The Wii is a lot of fun, but man do you develop bad fighting habits.

Is that what we're calling it now?

I'm so sorry for the mess.

Use part of the money for something productive and grown-up, like savings or bills. Use the rest for fun!

You know it never works that way...

I was gonna suggest a similar split scheme — $100 to debt, $50 to the camera fund, $25 for hedonism — but if you feel like this won't work, put all the money to debt ASAP. And this is coming from a Vegas junkie veteran who would love to see what you would do with a boss new camera. Can't go wrong paying down debt.

That would be the new math. . . . .

Er, stet the debt & fun dough, $75 to the camera fund. Hell, you know I was an English major!!

Re: That would be the new math. . . . .

Dude, I just ran a bid selection process for a $3 million contract using a 100 point scale that somehow had 103 points in it. Apparently, History majors can't do maths, either...

My suggestion should be self-evident.

I've a feeling that a disclaimer is forthcoming.

Disclaimer? My identity has been in question for quite some time: you'll be getting no such thing from the new, improved Taketoshi.

camera probably. I think you'd get the most year round pleasure from upgrading to your new and fancy model.

I'm a little afeared of getting a real rig.
bushidokelt From: bushidokelt Date: June 1st, 2007 01:47 pm (UTC) (Link)
why? Get insurance for it, then you can replace it if it gets damaged

My uncle had a $1200 setup "stolen" from him once out of his apartment. The break-in always seemed kinda suspicious until after his divorce when he found out his wife had thrown it away because she resented his love of photography.

Stranger than fiction.

Three hundred camera votes won't be enough to convince you the expense is justified. JUST FRIGGIN GET ONE. You can stay in my garage if you go broke. There's room for the car too if you sleep in the loft.

Jebus, I know. I can't tell you how tired I am hearing myself grouse over the same things. I can only imagine what my readership goes through.

There's fancy dinners or something NERD-tacular. You know what I speak of.

I know of nothing of the sort. Truly.

Camera/Gadets are always fun. But you must have some left over for beer/margaritas!!
komos From: komos Date: June 1st, 2007 02:45 am (UTC) (Link)
Do you honestly think that I'd not leave allowances for cerveza and tequila?
bushidokelt From: bushidokelt Date: May 31st, 2007 02:23 pm (UTC) (Link)
what happened with teh smoker?
komos From: komos Date: May 31st, 2007 03:24 pm (UTC) (Link)
I'm still contemplating a terracotta set-up, even if a manufactured smoker may make its way into my world at some point. What I need to decide is whether I should stick with the 14" grill idea (easiest, and it only requires the purchase of the pots since Sputnik's surface will do double-duty), or if I should try to move up to a 18.5" or larger to radically increase the cooking surface.
