Signs you have taken things a bit too far
A Starbuck's run this morning found me waiting for a medium latte wondering what the number of word threshold was between ordering a coffee and ordering a milkshake in a place equipped with a Free BarTM when the manager called a "venti skinny soy iced caramel mocha latte with three additional shots of espresso."

She caught me chuckling in disbelief at the other end of the counter, grinned, and - once she was sure the customer had turned his back - made a disgusted tongue-sticking-between-her-teeth face.

I think the threshold might be three. Four if I'm being really generous.

Re: Sweet fancy Moses . . .

But it's "skinny!" Sugar free is healthy, right? O_o

Re: Sweet fancy Moses . . .

That's what the skinny means in that order? I am unlearned in the ways of ordering, well, whatever the hell that customer ordered. So that means all the components are the lo-cal versions, and they've got to stock "diet" versions of all the adulterants in addition to the usual sugar sludge?

Aaaaah, no wonder that chain is spazzing out. At least your area is well provisioned with Dunkin' Donuts. And Whole Foods. Mmmm . . . bean bins . . .

Re: Sweet fancy Moses . . .

It ain't skinny if it's a caramel mocha.

But they could have asked for "EZ whip" on top, and then it would be okay.

Re: Sweet fancy Moses . . .

Don't say that! I love their whipped "cream" even if it has vanilla flavoring and SplendaTM in it.

Re: Sweet fancy Moses . . .

I have a taste for Cool Whip, even though I know it's about as healthful as Tyvek.

Re: Dude...

Dunks IS the machine, man.

If I had my way, there'd be a kickass place that would make perfect coffee AND know what the hell an au lait is. While we're at it, add pastries that would make your momma cry.
