Anyone know anything about refurbishing/restoring old steamer trunks? I've got a beauty that's got an interior that's in need of some love.

Funny, just yesterday I was admiring digitalemur's new-to-her old steamer trunk which needs some serious refurbishing.

No tips just yet, but if she finds some, I'll pass 'em on. :)

What are you looking to do with it? There's a whole lot of refurb possibilities, but it all comes down to intended use.

It's a wardrobe trunk, and to use it as such, the interior will need to be gutted and de-mustified.

Will you be redoing the interior fabric in pillowed purple satin with gold upholstery tacks, each one emblazoned with a medusa head or flaming skull? Actually, that sounds like a totally rockin' portable voodoo alter...
