A little less than a happy high
The Great Mesmero!
On first glance, the latest rash of spam messages to hit my box seems to be pretty mundane. They advertise viagra clones, drug perscriptions through the mail, basically everything one would expect of modern day snake oil peddlers. Today, though, I noticed something sinister. As I selected the text of one to post it to spamcop, I noticed that there were words tucked between the lines of the post's body. I hadn't seen them before because the text was in white. (I've taken the liberty of making the hidden text visible.)

melvyn omitting abrasion

I'd be worried about subliminal messages or some sort of arcane demon summoning rite being performed through my inbox, but somehow "melvyn omitting abrasion" just doesn't seem that threatening.

I do wonder about all those umlauts though.

Careful, it might actually summon a demon from the nether realms.

Maybe you have to say it backwards?
