A little less than a happy high
For the first time since beginning classes at the BCAE, I will be continuing study under the same instructor. I just got finished signing up for Darrell's Monday night intermediate class beginning May 3. And, in case you're keeping track, this will be the second time I've been able to afford new class right on the heels of the last. Go me.

I've reconciled myself to remaining there for the time being, if only because I'm still at least a year off of considering an intensive university program. I've a lot to learn and a lot to become comfortable with before I step out into the world.

In the meantime, I've a strange idea in the works. I've spoken about it with a few of you, and the more I think about it, the more I think it has promise. I need to learn more there, too, but something's coming together.

UPDATE: I spoke with Darrell for a bit last night after having a moderately successful glazing experience, and he seems to think that I should jump in at MassArt as soon as possible. His take was that it's a great opportunity with a lot of room for growth, and that I know pretty much everything I need in order to take that step. Plus, he said that it would be good for the program to have at least one student who didn't assume that "shocking" = "art."

My best glaze last night was the large bowl I threw a few weeks back. There will definitely be pics of that.

*claps hands* Go you! Hey, did you get yourself a copy of that book on cheese you got for me?

Not to get too excited yet... we're still in daydreaming phase. And no, I haven't. I should probably tack it on to my amazon wishlist.

Actually, I was hand-clapping in response to you getting right into another class, not the other thing. In light of your conversation with Darrell, tho', I must ask: Are you gonna do it? It's a Massachusetts school, so will it be free for you, Mr. State Employee?

Yes, but we've had this conversation.

I'll have to see what classes are available when. If all I have access to during the summer is the day classes, it'll be a little difficult attending unless I can manage to arrange a 4-day week at work.
