Ouch! That's gotta smart ...

I found a very tight relationship between quality and fragility; at some point I just relaxed into having a nice small repetoire (a lager, a light ale, and something stout-like) ... none of them great, but none of them too fickle.

I was trying to make a bitters using an herb other than hops. As of last night, I'm pretty sure that something went horribly wrong.

If it's possible, it tastes worse cold.

"If it's possible, it tastes worse cold."
*shudder*
Now that is a truly frightening thought!

heh ... maybe you should investigate; maybe that combination of herbs can be used, I dunno, for another "It's gotta be good for ya, cuz it tastes aweful!" cold remedy?

Bitters ... w/o hops ... hmmmm.

But you've lost me ... that's the end of the pool I didn't more than spash around in.
Mind I did get into making apple-cider in a big way ... imagine trees out in the highlands of Cape Breton that are soooooooo clean and natural that I made cider w/o adding yeast ... just didn't wash the fruit ... quartered them, tossed them in *out the side of a hill* spring water, let them set 2 weeks, then strained the big chunks out and added sugar, then *at least* one more week and added spices (cinammon, basically), then *at least* one more week and into the bottles. Yummmm!
