A little less than a happy high
Suggestions noted, conversations begun
sjc and margimello: It’s not that I dislike roasted chestnuts. It’s just that I’ve had them before and I’ve got recipes that I’m itching to try. I’m expanding my horizons, if you will.

guitarcries: I absolutely believe it. I’m also guessing that like the roadside jerk chicken (sometimes with banana chutney!) I grew to love while wandering around in Jamaica, I won’t be able to reproduce the experience.

clayrobeson: Honestly, I’m not sure that I have the quantities necessary to do it justice. That and my beermaking has been a little lacking of late. My last three batches have all had problems, and only one due to infection. I really need to figure out what I’m doing differently and go back to the days when it was suggested that I need a dry-erase board.

d2leddy: Being in my general vicinity would help a lot. ^_^

venomgoddess: By far my favorite suggestion, if only for making me laugh out loud. I’ll see if I can’t set a couple aside for arts and crafts.

Yeah, I'm sure my experience was enhanced by walking the streets of Florence at night while carrying the roasted chestnuts in a little wax paper bag.

Red Stripe has never tasted as good as it did being sold out of buckets filled with ice at roadside shanty bars. Being there with my lady love in the warm sticky darkness, stumbling through conversations with the locals and their heavy patois made the experience.

Come to think of it, the tacos from the late-night Pasadena taco truck probably have a similar warm spot in my heart.

But change is bad!

There is nothing that is good or bad that thinking doesn't make it so...

I'm skeered.

But see, that's just the thing. It's that scared feeling that makes change abhorrent.

And yes, I'm saying this more for myself than anything.
