The gentleman is always properly dressed

In my world, there are pianos and drums everywhere

I've been listening to what I can get my hands on of The Dresden Dolls most of the day and feel like I’ve stumbled onto a well kept secret. It's not unlike finding bondage mags from the 1940's in my grandmother's closet. (Well, ok, that never happened, but it's like the feeling I imagine I would have had if I had found bondage mags from the 1940's in my grandmother's closet. No, really. Stop laughing!) The point is, it seems so utterly preposterous on first glance that I could have known anything, but then seems so utterly preposterous that I did not.

At any rate, this is all by way of saying that I wish I could bring myself to go to their cd release ball tonight. Unfortunately, I feel like a hopeless outsider, an interloper in a world that’s existed but I've not been part of.

Being A little melodramatic, am I? Absolutely... I have nothing to wear. ;P

Enjoy your weekend, folks. May you be free of the crazies.

The gentleman is always properly dressed

On wrenches and works

When I left the office this evening, I was happy at my prospects for the weekend and even a little inclined to see if I couldn't get to the show tonight. But hold on, kids... this is the part of the show where Strongbad slaps a sticky note on my forehead.

I got off the train at Alewife, made it to the top of the second escalator and, as I am wont to do when I reach that point, went to reach for my keys.

They weren't there.

In fact, they hadn't been there all day. Instead, they were in the pocket of my jacket which I had hung up behind the door in my office. So, as I am wont to do when I reach that point, I tilted my head back and covered my eyes with my hands. It must have been a precious sight because one of my fellow commuters stopped to ask me in a voice hushed so as not to disturb the disturbed, "Are you alright?"

This puts a few kinks into the weekend.
