Killing Buddha

No, my friend, this isn't for you

He came into the room shortly after I started watching one of the interviews with Julie Taymor that came extra with the Frida DVD. He paused, focusing on the TV briefly, before he looked over at me quizzically.

"It's Julie Taymor," I said in answer to his unspoken question.

"Who is..."

"She does a number of things. She's a painter, a sculptor, and, most relevant here, a filmmaker. She did Frida and Titus, amongst other things."

"Ah, ok." He turned his attention back to the screen Taymor was talking about working with Salma Hayek when he decided to speak again. "Well, I actively disliked Titus."

"Really." It was all I could think to say.

Are you still here?

Good: Since I'm free tonight, I can go out with my posse for drinks after work.

Bad: I'm free tonight because I couldn't get into a wheelthrowing class at the BCAE studio. Per usual, I was scrambling for money at about the same time that I needed to be registering. I actively dislike not having studio access, even if I am a rank novice.

Update: Turns out that folks are meeting at J.J. Foley's TOMORROW night. So, with no studio in which to work and no convenient gathering of friends, I am at something of a loss at what to do with myself. Bugger.

Incidentally, I need to bottle fifteen gallons of beer Sunday afternoon. I think I have enough bottles for about ten, which means that you good people will each have to come by with a few or six empties (Grolsch-style flip tops are easiest, but anything that's not corked or twist off will do) so you can bring beer home with you. No worries, I had planned on gifting the Old Ale and the Super Stout, anyway... this will just make it easier. Noon for bottling, earlier if you want to help with cleaning/sanitizing (in which case you get breakfast.) Bring whatever and let me know if a) you think you'll be swinging by or b) if I should set aside some beer for you.
