Edvardian

"Do you see me, citizens of my homeland?"

This morning, I was strangely delighted to have received a call from an Anne Tigoni. As we were talking, I kept wondering if her parents had been conscious of their choice, whether they had intended (at least phonetically) to name their child after the daughter and guide of the blind Oedipus. What sort of people could they have been? Was it some sort of literary in-joke? A guide to the character they wished her to possess?

Of course, now I'll never know for sure. My curiosity could not overcome the potential for disappointment at hearing her say, "Antigone? Who's that?"
