What's in a name?

Is this a great country or what?

From a memo received on Wednesday: "In observance of the National Day of Mourning for President Ronald Wilson Reagan, all Executive Branch agencies will be closed on June 11, 2004. Employees who were scheduled to work on this day will be given a day-off with pay [...]"

If anyone wishes to join me in contemplating the meaning of the Reagan presidency, the effectiveness of the MBTA bag-search policy*, or the true nature of the February tomato**, please drop me a line.

*I wonder if it's occurred to anyone empowered to make decisions that if the search is limited to bags that they've instructed Very Dangerous PeopleTM where not to carry explosives/firearms/chemical agents/illicit substances?
**A subject very near to my heart these days.
