The Southwick Jog
One of my previous housemates began his professional life as a high school history teacher. That gig didn't last long, however, ending for various reasons which all seemed to precipitate from an argument he had with his department head over the need to teach a long segment concerning colonial land grants in New England. It was his deeply held belief that the subject was so incredibly dry, so completely boring, that no one outside of a stodgy denizen of a local historical society with a near obsessive-compulsive urge for self-publishing would show even the slightest interest.
