Peter, I have need of you. Please tell the vegetarian -- can one use a propane grill indoors, or will one light up like a dry christmas tree in January?

Why do I ask? Because I'm throwing a free weenies and beer party for the Filmrounds opening of Richard Linklater's remake of Bad News Bears. That's right BAD NEWS BEARS, possibly the greatest movie ever made, and the police are telling me I need a $50 permit to grill hot dogs out on the public sidewalk. Why the Man always gotta bring you down?

If you're very very very careful, you probably won't burn down the house. That said, you may produce enough carbon monoxide to put all of your guests out, and that wouldn't be good at all.

If you absolutely can't cook outside, a better choice would be one of the sove-top grills (essentially specialized pans) which will allow you to replicate at least some of the effect.

BNB rocks my world.

Thank you! Now that I know what the issues are we may begin the work arounds.

What if I opened up one of the double doorways in the front of the theater and placed the grill there? Sufficient carbon monoxide ventilation, or death to hundreds?

(I freely admit that Wired magazine has created lust in my heart for the Thane Q, something I would not normally *need* per se...)

At that point, you may be creating a fire-hazard for blocking a point of egress. :\
