Foods - A little less than a happy high

I've made soupe d'automne (an autumn vegetable soup with pumpkin and flavored with a ham hock) for tonight, and have a 15-month old Comte to shred with. Should I become sufficiently motivated today, there may even be a pumkin or sweet potato pie in the making.

All told, my forced entry into the world of "rice and beans" hasn't been too terribly taxing. Truth be known, I'm probably eating much better than I would otherwise.

We have a nice recipe for Rice and Beans with chicken (Arroz con Pollo) that we made last night. It's got kick to it and you can never beat KICK in your food...

Did you guys give the red beans (& rice) a try?

Sadly, we did not (I think they might still be in the fridge even which is probably not too good a thing).

For yesterday's lunch, we made butternut gnocci. It was very tasty, albeit the gnocci's shape resemble white blood cells ready for battle.

I thought they were supposed to look like that...

Haha mine have never looked like that!...they've always been dimpled, with a tendency to melt...

Speaking as someone who just happens to have a butternut squash handy, I don't suppose you have a recipe you could share?

I basically live on soup at the moment, it is cheap, nutritious and easy(everything I need)...if you run out of recipes let me know...

By the time autumn hits, I generally find myself eating a lot of soup as well. I've not run out of recipes yet, but if you'd like to share, I'd be grateful.
