	Hey folks... I need a good Photoshop tutorial. I'm talking bare bones basics right up through more complex image manipulation. Give me your knowin's.

While I'm mostly self taught, the book I learned the most from is "Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photographers" by Martin Evening

A number of things, really... off the top of my head, selecting an area and being able to stretch/skew it without affecting the rest of the image.

Use the Magic Wand to select areas by similar color, or use the Select Tool to select a shape, or use the Lasso tool to make a selection by hand. Then, copy this selection, and paste it right away, which will make a new layer. Now you are free to manipulate this part of the image without affecting the image below.

My father took a class & really likes it, but thinks that some things are really cumbersome. He has a book though & I can see if he will lend it to you if you want...
