Beer and culcha'?
Tomorrow night, Gaby Wood will be reading selections from Edison's Eve at Wordsworth Books in Harvard Square at 7PM.

I'm thinking about going and wouldn't mind company for the reading and maybe a pint beforehand. Any takers?

I'd love to, but I have to teach.

How was the reading?

It was actually pretty cool. Wood touched on things like the shitting duck, the chess playing Turk, and an unfinished piece that Louis XV commissioned for a bleeding man. She also spent a fair amount of time talking about Edison and his talking doll.

I suspect that there will be more on this later, though.
