Tongue-in-cheek nothing. Someone better come liberate me, stat. Well? WHERE ARE YOU?

There's just that little matter of significant civilian casualties. :\

I'd be willing to make the necessary arrangements otherwise.

Do you mind?

Do you mind if I ask what your opinion on this subject is? . . . :: hug ::

Re: Do you mind?

No, not at all.... I tend to be a moderate leftist, but that generally puts me more into the category of "tree hugger" than "hippy peacenik." What that translates into here is an understanding that armed response is sometime unavoidable, but that the actions of the US and its president are not exempt from scrutiny just because there is a heightened (and expected) sense of patriotism.

I like this piece of satire because although there is a radical shift in perception that's applied, there is nothing factually untrue. The reason why we don't look at the situation in this way is because the spin here is usually in the other direction.

So short answer: while I'll readily concede that there's a great deal to recommend the USA, I can certainly understand how we might be percieved differently by members of the international community.

... but this could easily turn into something of essay length, especially if I start commenting on a point by point basis. Does this kind of work as an answer?
