When T Drivers Attack
As I was waiting to get off the train today, my driver started talking to me...

"I want YOU to drive this train!"
"Beg pardon?"
"I want you to drive, man."
I laughed. "I'm not sure I'm quite up to it..."
"Why not? It's easy! You can drive a car can't you?"
"Well, yeah, but..."
"It's the same thing. If you can drive a car, you can drive this train."
"But there’s no wheel and..."
"What do you need a wheel for? You’ve got tracks! You just go straight ahead until you have to stop."
"Don't I need training? What about cars and people who cross in front of you?"
"THAT'S one of the times you have to stop! 'Cause if you hit something you own it. You know what I mean? You OWN it."
"Hmmm... Is there anything else I should know?"
"Yeah, but you can do things like telling people where they are. Like this..." He picked up the receiver and announced "SUMMIT AVE" over the intercom. "You’re all over it. I have faith in you."

Sadly, Summit Ave. was my stop. He wished me a good one.

Yeah, you would think that wouldn't you? My natural reserve kicks in when we start talking about large machinery whose drivers normally wear uniforms.

I still want a tank, though.

Hey, it's on tracks, just push the stop button. And hey, you can put that on your resume, like Klae did.

Drove a train. Oh yeah.

And were you going to be late for something? I would have pretty much been late for anything to DRIVE A TRAIN!

Yeah, I was on my way to seeing my "special friend," who probably would have tried to find some deeper, symbolic meaning to my putting her off so I could drive a train.

I've never driven a train, dude... :)

*kicks you* But the last line of your resume has something suitably silly.

Can tie cherry stem in knot with tongue

Sound familiar, goof? :)

I'm just happy to have moments of absurdity in my life. It restores my faith in the universe.

Restores your faith in the Universe

Stories like that always make me appreciative because it brings the awareness of harmony and order.

Similar to needing money for a new class and receiving a rebate. Or wanting to know if you are pursuing the art that will make you a success with it in someway and receiving a commission. This is likened in my view, is this the right course? It seems entirely to be the case as this is an exaggerated even yes absurd manner to make that clear.

Amen to that.
