While on the subject of brewing - A little less than a happy high

While on the subject of brewing
Someone in Davis Square has homegrown hops for the taking.

I can't begin to tell you how happy this makes me.

UPDATE: I just found this handy guide to identifying hops varieties at the John I. Haas site. Seems Cascade and Willamette are quite distinct, and the Willamette tends to be harder to cultivate. I'm guessing that what this gentleman has available is Cascade (can you say IPA, boys and girls?), but it should be easy to tell once I see the bines and cones.

Current Mood: excited excited

Now, there's the small matter of determining which variety I'll be getting. One's more of an aromatic than the other. Looks, though, like there's an English Bitter somewhere in my future.

How much do you want? Do you want me to figure out what it is before or after I send it? Do you think I'll need to do anything special to ship it to you?

Send enough for a batch or two.

Send it whenever (I'll wait to use it till you know what it is).

I'm not sure HOW you'd have to ship it to keep the drug dogs off of it. :D Oh... it's agricultural crap. I wonder how CA deals with that... hrm... I'll look into it.

Yeah, get back to me with relevant info. I was just thinking about whether it needed to be shipped cold. If I have to do something elaborate like package it in coffee, that could be very strange.

Tha's me, though. Pilot, philosopher, and now smuggler. ;P

Melissa says that you can probably ship it, but don't tell them what it is. Quote: "It's not like we have customs." :)

Could I list "potpouri" as the item being shipped? I mean, it is aromatic.

pilot, philosopher zymurgist and hops smuggler?
I am so jealous of your many abilities.
You can be my hero for the day too and we'll be about even.

Heh. Keep in mind that I piloted a U-Haul, my philosophy is on the level of Jack Handey's, and most of my other activities are all in the "fake it 'til you make it" phase.

I will take hero, though, so long as it doesn't involve any (unnecessary) questing. ^_^

Do consider the beer a standing offer. Or, I'd be happy to trade for a zine.
